Eye Candy

I’m glad there’s no place in my neighborhood that sells candy like this, because otherwise I would buy thirty lbs a day. I would carry it all around in bags with huge $ signs on them & I would visit French pastry shops and expensive Italian boutiques and insist on paying with the candies. When the moustached French and Italian storeclerks would protest I would say that I was a rich Contessa who owned an island somewhere in the tropics and this was our national currency. I think that would convince them. But I’m glad I can’t buy any, just in case it wouldn’t.

    THESE are the coolest thing I’ve ever seen. I would buy 30 lbs, too, and use them to decorate my house (e.g., use them instead of marbles in vases)

    I’m starting pastry school soon and making that kind of candy is one of the things I think I would love to do most after I finish school. I’ve had some that tasted gross and some that tasted good.

    @Mairead

    Filling a goldfish bowl with them would be nice, too — especially if some were made with little fish designs in the middle!

    Epicute,

    That would be a wicked party idea!!

    I don’t think they should be put in an occupied tank, though. My betta is already too hyper.

    What are these things called? I would love to get them as gifts for friends and haven’t seen anywhere that sells them. (I’m in NY)

    I’m not sure, to be honest. These particular ones are Japanese, so you could have a look around an Asian supermarket or something to try and find the name. xo

    A friend of mine had these at her wedding, they were designed with the bride and grooms name in the middle. They rocked! Perhaps they are an Aussie thing? I know a dozen places to get them here in Brisbane, one of the best is
