Star light, star bright …

… the first star I see tonight
I wish I may
I wish I might
have this cake to eat tonight!
The frosting totally reminds me of my dream apartment. Best shade of blue ever.

That frosting is so….creamy. And full. And that is a very lovely shade of blue. I used to have a bedroom painted a very sedate blue, and the next was a very funky, bold blue.
My next room, I hope to paint a sedate lavendar shade.
If you ever post up a purple cake, I may just die
I’m just wondering, how do you actually bake that cake? It looks so amazing and I would like to try to make it for a friend’s Birthday.
I’m not much of a baker (I leave that to the pros), but it looks like the frosting is smoothed with some sort of spatula on the sides and bottom and then piped on the edges. I’d bet the stars are fondant.
There’s a link to the original photo, though, so you could always ask!
