Bebop Bibimbap

Welcome to Tuesday, everyone! I’m starting the week off by bringing my lunch to work… no more pumpkin spice lattes for breakfast or nabeyaki udon for lunch. On the bright side, I’ll be saving money. On the downside, I nearly missed my bus this morning due to an impossible-to-get-off pasta sauce jar, and my breakfast oatmeal blew up in the microwave. Oh, adulthood. Perhaps I’m not quite ready for you.
Do you bring lunch to work? Easy-peasy ham sandwiches, or deconstructed delicacies like the bento above?

I love to bring bento to work and usually do it as a special treat for my boyfriend and myself on Fridays but it means I have to get out of bed a whole hour earlier (and I’m completely not a morning person)! It’s worth it though ^.^
I don’t do it for myself, but I love to make lunch fo rmy mom. Not bento or anything, but I usually try to pack her a cute little nutritious meal.
All I bring to work to eat is a hard boiled egg and an apple. However, that is because my boss is evil and does not allow me a lunch hour (because I only work 9-2…but try not getting hungry in that time!)
What a beautiful bento!
Love your blog!
I bring my lunch to work every day. It used to be a salad sandwich, but inspired by the beautiful bentos you’ve posted (and linked to), I’m branching out into fruit bentos. Mmmmmm!
beautiful bento! quick question, does anyone know what kind of pepper that is on the right? this place in seattle serves them with their meals and i love them.
I’ve been accused of only bringing “ingredients” and not actual “meals” for my lunches — today was carrot, hardboiled egg, cheese, sweet potato and some hot dogs. I eat them all separately. (I have nothing against meal dishes composed of multiple food items, I just don’t have the patience to make anything complex in advance.)
Someday I’ll buy an obento box, and spend waaaay too much time preparing tiny colorful arrangements for it c.c;
Today I brought a can of soup and lucked out because my boss offered to share a pizza for lunch.
My bosses (they are a couple) usually bring ‘ingredient’ lunches- leftover meat, whole carrots, heads of lettuce, etc, and compose sandwiches and salads on the spot.
I usually try to plan for leftovers, or bring the makings for a grilled cheese, or if I’ve really got my self together, compose a fancy salad.
I make my lunch in the morning while I’m making/eating breakfast. My roommate, however, is a ‘night before’ kinda person. I don’t think I’ll ever be that organized!
lol, I’m lazy, so usually nothing. but spare change if I’ve got any…. ^_^; Not exactly the best school lunch in the world…
That bento is awesome!!
Ahh…I am a night before person… I make mine up in advance, pack it away neatly in the fridge and then forget to take it in the morning.
Unless I leave notes everywhere.
I like planning my food, whether it be my lunch, baking or having people over for dinner.
I take things for lunch like, salads, deviled eggs, leftovers. But never sandwiches. I can’t stomach the thought of eating them – and don’t get me started on a certain Sub Sandwich chain store – I can’t even walk past and smell the place without feeling ill!!
I always bring lunch to work (at least until I leave it on the counter). I’m way too cheap to let someone make me a $6 sandwich that I could make on my own!
I love deconstructed food! I bring my lunch to school, but it is usually just a sandwich and some packaged snacks… like goldfish or something. I would love to have the time to pack something nice, though.
