That’s the problem with making food with little faces. It’s so traumatic to eat it.
Not only are they buns… not only are they shaped like adorable piggies… they’re full of sausage?
You may have posted the perfect food!
These are just adorable!
These little piggies appear to be the same sort of piggy that you linked to some months ago ago (http://epicute.com/2009/10/29/i-cant-face-it/). Likely a Japanese or Chinese treat (and quite possibly a Chinese New Year’s dish — “Oinky” from the earlier post was specifically a New Year’s thing.)
The filling would likely be fruit jam (pineapple is really popular) or some sweet bean paste — these ones look like they have white bean filling inside, judging by the third picture you linked, so in Chinese they would be ‘Bai dou su.’
Sorry, that link was http://epicute.com/2009/10/29/i-cant-face-it/
Omg they’re too cute to eat!
Om nom nom.
Here’s me with the similar thing, only mine weren’t fried. Mine had sweet egg yolk filling, they tasted all buttery and sweet.

My piggies had bigger ears!
oh why do people make food so cute? If i ate that… I feel like I murdered something…
Kolaches! Oh my goodness! So delicious! They aren’t Japanese or Chinese treats, they originated in Eastern Europe. And are plentiful in Texas (= Yuuummmmmm (^.^)
