Mary Had a Little Lamington

Aug. 22, 2010

cute food photos - Mary Had a Little Lamington

Apparently Lamingtons are Australian in origin. I know we have some Aussies in the community here, care to school us on what is clearly a treat the rest of the world is totally missing out on? Yummy dense cake dipped in chocolate sauce and rolled in coconut, mmmmm. I just wish the little bow was made of sugar.

Buggy Goodness

cute food photos - Buggy Goodness

Let’s serve these along side the dirt pudding cups from the other day! We’ll have a garden party, a park-sit! Bring your chickens and strawberry lemonade and insect-themed sweet snacks and pretty blankets to sit on and a tiny boombox. This will be a perfect late summer afternoon, I promise.

Raspberry and Lime Mascarpone Mousse Cakes

Aug. 20, 2010

cute food photos - raspberry and lime mascarpone mousse cakes

This cake is just going to float right up off that plate and flap its little berry wings and fly away if you don’t eat it right now as fast as you can. I don’t know that I’ve ever had a lime mascarpone cake, but now I have a new goal in life.

Petit Fours by the Mouthful

cute food photos - Petit Fours by the Mouthful

It would be a shame to eat these considering the immense amount of work that no doubt went into them. Nonetheless I can’t help wondering how many of them I could stuff in my mouth at once. I’m a lady like that.

Stack of Froggies

Aug. 19, 2010

cute food photos - Stack of Froggies

I feel like this stack of frog cookies could go on indefinitely like a fractal. Mmmm cookie math! I always hated math, but when you throw cookies and cute li’l tree frogs into the mix, I might just pay attention in class.

Simply Perfect

cute food photos - Simply Perfect

I want to have this printed up in my wallet so when people say they can’t cook I can pull it out and throw it at them. You CAN make delicious, amazing, healthy, gorgeous food with zero skill. I swear. And if you make the bites small enough, you’re making super adorable food too. Eat it!

Calzone in Disguise

Aug. 18, 2010

cute food photos - Calzone in Disguise

Be still my salty heart! Oh cheese encrusted glory! Sweet tomato sauce in a bun! How else can I say I love a calzone that looks like a cupcake and be super uber-dramatic as I say it? Cute has no umami bounds!

Garden Cups

Aug. 17, 2010

cute food photos - Garden Cups

My 3-year-old nephew would love little cups of pudding with fake dirt and gummy worms. Heck, I bet he’d try it with real worms just to know what it’s like. He’s super inquisitive like that. In fact, I think he might even have spoons similar to the ones in the photo, and I know my big sister has martini glasses. I think I need to set up a dirt-eating date with my favorite little dude.

Panda Noms

Aug. 17, 2010

cute food photos - Panda Noms

This is illustrative of one of my favorite summer activities that my friends and I share: the park-sit. Go to the nearest park, bring a blanket, a pre-roasted grocery store chicken maybe, some sparkling juice and hilarious conversation, and now, perhaps a dessert that looks like two little flirty pandas doing their own park-sit. Can’t beat it!

EDIT: These sweet lil guys aren’t food at all! They’re polymer clay! Whoops! But you know what? I’m going to keep them up here, they’re so cute! And they might eat that bamboo at any moment, you never know!
