You guys, this lady makes bento boxes for her dogs. Her DOGS. For the love of… this was for her dog’s birthday! Don’t get me wrong, I adore my dog, but I now feel like the most inadequate dog mom in the world for never taking the time to mold her food into adorable shapes and spelling her name in kibble. This is so cute I may have just had a puppy stroke. I smell bacon and want to chase birds now.

I know many of you love bento boxes. You’ve requested pictures of bento boxes. And I, as your cartwheeling wizard of adorable mouth ‘splosions, have been on the hunt. So check this picture out: it’s a  bento box on a mission to be cute. It’s determined to wow you with smirks, winks, and lil’ pink noses.

Personally, I love bento boxes. At least, from a strictly culinary point-of-view. They are a whimsical, charming way to eat a meal that is full of detail and surprises. I had never thought of them as ”cute,” but I think I get it. Especially this special box. In the future I will be on the look out for these little dollhouses of pinchworthy morsels.

For some reason bento with faces always makes me feel a little sad about eating it. Fondant figurines or cookies shaped like bears? Whatevs, man. I bite the head off without a second thought. These guys, though? I feel a slight tinge of remorse just thinking about giving their ears a nibble. I’d still do it anyway, though.

In addition to rice, this bento contains chicken and fish… which is kind of funny, when you think about the fact that it’s in the shape of a bird. Looks incredibly tasty, though.

Wow — this was a hard one! Can anybody think of others? Blue corn tortilla chips aren’t really a flavour, and stuff like cassis or eggplant seems more purple than blue to me… but I’m such a sucker for blue rice.
